Secure Your Power Supply

Uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) are used in organizations that cannot afford to lose power for any period of time If the critical power supply is interrupted then the UPS system will back-up the power supply and provide cover until the mains power supply is restored. It is not uncommon however for power supplies to fail for prolonged period of times and often in these situations the UPS systems battery will be exhausted. It is in this situation where a standby generator and fuel supply is necessary in order to maintain a power supply. It is not enough to have any backup generator as they do not come online automatically unless they are paired with the correct UPS system. There are many varieties of backup generators and UPS systems meaning that matching the two is vital.

The UPS and generator must be matched correctly because if they are not they can create problems for each other. The most common problems are that a generators frequency range can sometimes be too wide for a UPS system to handle or that the generators slew rate is to fast for the UPS system to safely follow. This issue can be overcome by installing an electronic governor to the backup generator which will manage its output by limiting the frequency. A further issue is the UPS can also interfere with how the generators control power as they often include rectifier charge control circuits which enforce notches on the power feed.

Yamaha Produces Quality Generators

One of the largest manufacturers of generators is Yamaha Motors. This is a big family owned business running for 49 years. Consequently, they have 49 years of generator expertise as well. It is one of the industry leaders in the generator market.

Yamaha classifies their generators as either portable or electric. Currently, they have 15 shipping units ready for delivery right into your own home or office. They have inverter models, consumer models, and industrial generators. They are also selling parts and accessories for enhancement and replacement of their products.

Yamaha is dedicated to give quality generators to their consumers. They offer their customers a two-year warranty on all of their generator models. Warranties can be further extended with purchase. They boast of skilled technical support group and service centers. Their customer service can be accessed through phone, fax, or email.

Yamaha generators
offer portability and noiseless operation. It uses inverter technology, which means the device is using a low voltage source; usually a car battery can make an output of up to 120 volts, AC. The idea is to plug the device to a battery of 12 volts. It will run on its own and makes it possible for other appliances, like a TV to be power up. They have six models to choose from, with one model weighing as light as 27 lbs. This is the device ideal for outdoor use like camping out.

Read Your Generator's Owner's Manual

An owner's manual is important. It's almost as important as the generator! Regular oil changes some time every 25 - 50 hours are required due to constant use and should be performed when recommended. More often is better for low budget engines that don't have oil filters. Check the manufacturer's recommendations when selecting the proper weight engine oil for your unit.

The more sophisticated your generator the less supervision it requires when in operation but it will require more attention during storage periods in addition to what's mentioned above. If it is a water cooled unit checking the coolant level is important as well as changing it regularly to keep the rust inhibitors active. Also if it is a battery start unit the battery should be serviced regularly and hooked up to a trickle charger at all times when the generator is not in use. A fully charged battery will make the higher horse power units easy to start when you need them most!

Maintenance on Your Generators

Now! Not when you need it, is a good time to check out your emergency generator. Most home owners think having a small gas powered genrator solves the problem when the power goes out. It's true but only if it's in perfect working order when you need it.

Generators
, just like pets and people, need a good diet and regular exercise to be in good working order (Physical condition).

Today's Gasoline blends have a very short storage life. Three months or more sitting with a tank full of stale gas will make engine starting difficult and will often create gum in the engine's fuel system, plugging carburetor jets as well as making floats stick.

To avoid fuel system problems it's a good idea to run your generator under load for an hour every three months to keep your fuel system from gumming up. A few electrical appliances or tools are all you need to give your generator a load. Make sure to refill the gas tank with clean fresh gas and a little fuel stabilizer to keep things clean for the future. Never use the bottom of the gas can that has been kept around ½ full for an extended period of time to top up your gas tank. The last cup of gas in a container should not be used because it is usually contaminated with water and dirt. Dispose of this properly before refilling your container with fresh gas.

Gas vs Natural Gas Generators

In comparison to gasoline generators, those with a source of natural gas are still preferred especially in houses and other establishments. This is because it is again cost effective and safer for the environment. Natural gas generator suppliers have proven that the generators they deliver are what can be made into portable generators and efficient for power outages.

With the different comparisons made from a natural gas generator set to that of other types of generators, you are now able to choose which one would be of good use to you. No matter what you choose as long as it gives you with enough energy sources that you require during power outages, then that would be fine. However, you must also bear in mind other factors like whether it is safe to the environment most especially to you who will use it and is the generator worth its cost. Through this, you will be able to realize that you bought the perfect generator for you.

Industrial and Consumer Generators

Yamaha have a consumer and an industrial line of generators. They work almost the same, with the difference only on the power output it produces. Consumers are usually homeowners. This means power requirement are lower compared to industrial users. Both these lines are gasoline-powered.

Yamaha's Premium Consumer generators consist of five different models. It generates power of about 2600 watts. The noise is not burdensome either. The largest of which only has 77 dBA sound rating which means it is still acceptable for residential use. A cage can be created for the generator so that the sound can be further reduced if needed.

Looking into the Industrial Line of generators, Yamaha offers a heavy-duty series of generators in this set. They have four models to choose from, all of which give maximum performance. One of the models can go as high as 5,200 watts and allows up to 9 and a half hours of operation. This fits industrial plants, manufacturing areas, and factories.

Are Natural Gas Generators the Best?

One of the many generators of today which are considered beneficial especially during a power interruption is the natural gas generator. It can provide electricity to those who will use it by burning natural gas. Even in your own household, you can use specific appliances during outages with the help of this kind of generator. For those who are already using natural gas as their source of electricity, the use of a generator that makes use of this kind of gas will be more beneficial because it can be directly connected. In comparison to other kinds of generators, you will find out what makes it distinct from the others.

When it comes to effectiveness and the safety it can provide to the environment, a natural gas generator set is far more better that a generator that makes use of coal. Coal can be used in large power plants however it is not advisable to be used in residential areas or for business establishments because it can exhaust more harmful elements or pollutant compared than that of natural fuel. It is more than advisable to use generators that use natural gas at home because of the safety it can provide.

Moreover, in comparison to renewable fuel generators, a natural fueled generator is more applicable if you would use it constantly. This is due to the fact that the source of this kind of generator can be found anywhere. On the other hand renewable fuel source like that from the wind and the sun is not constant because there are many factors that can affect its presence in the environment. However, renewable fuel generator is safer due to fact that the sources are just from the environment.
