A Wind Powered Generator?

Wind powered home generators can be an extremely efficient and simple way of saving on your home electricity bills not to mention the advantages this renewable energy source has on the environment compared to the more commonly used and infinitely more expensive fossil fuels like oil, coal, gas etc.

The best thing about wind powered home generators is that they are quite simple to assemble yourself and can be used pretty much anywhere provided the average wind speed is not less than 10mph. Self assembly is quite straight forward and all the required parts and accessories are readily available in a hardware store or on ebay. An appropriate sized windmill needed to fully serve a standard size house can be put together for as little as $150.

What Generator Should You Get?

The free energy home generator is one topic that has been getting press attention lately. Free energy, which has been long considered very difficult at best and almost impossible at worst, has now become an important and easy solution to energy problems. Thanks to new studies and understandings to energy and its physics.

Everyone, except the huge power companies who are banking on the people's dependence with the energy and power that they produce, seem to be so thrilled about this revolutionary discovery. Well, with the promise of allowing you to finally break free with the burdensome monthly electrical bills that have been sucking your paycheck dry all these time, who wouldn't right? Perhaps getting your entire home powered for no-cost involved at all would be of a little mind stretching for others, but with free energy home generator it is indeed true.

Who Needs a Home Generator

Who needs a home generator? Well, maybe you. This past winter was harsh in some parts of the country, in other areas it was milder. For instance, where I live we had a relatively mild winter, which was a relief because the previous two winters were more severe than usual. With harsh winters come power outages, and with loss of power, most homes today come to a stand still. None of the appliances work, which is especially bad for food kept in freezers and refrigerators, the heat shuts off, and so does the water. This is bad enough in any home, but is worse if somebody in the home has health problems, and for the elderly or babies.

The reason power can be lost during a harsh winter includes heavy snow loads, high winds, freezing ice, and accidents that knock out power lines. But you don't have to live somewhere with a lot of snow to experience high wind storms and power outages. Tropical storms always wreak havoc on someone's power. So even if you live in a warmer climate, a home generator may still be a real good option. Especially if there is a risk of losing power during the height of a hot and humid summer when you rely upon your air conditioner.

Home Generators Are Safe and Convenient

Each year, it seems another area of the country gets hit with some type of natural disasters. Whether it be flood, snowstorm, fire, brush or any other type of disaster, and thousands of people were left without electricity for hours, or in some extreme cases, days. Can house a generator to provide a source of electricity, which they are most needed during those difficult times.

Home generators come in different sizes, and can be fed from different sources. Generators, less expensive and more commonly used methods are those that run on gasoline. But natural gas, diesel and liquefied petroleum gas fueled generators are also available.

From the standpoint of safety, it is important that an electric generator be installed by a licensed private. In fact, many towns and provinces require that you have, and also requires the approval of the installation of the company of your facilities. It's an important issue, because there is a chance that the generator voltage can return to the drawing board electricity supply if installed incorrectly. For this reason, double-throw transfer switch is required.

Any Other Options for Power Outages?

Of course, there are other options besides a home generator. If it is a cold winter storm, you can always put your foods outside to keep cold. If you have a wood burning stove, then you don't have to worry about heat and you can melt snow for water. If you live out in the country and are on a well, then at least you have running water. But those are a lot of ifs, wouldn't it be better to plan ahead and have a home generator?

Home generators come in many different sizes and power out puts. Though you can, you do not have to spend thousands of dollars. The size and power that you need is dependent upon what you want to power. You do not have to run your entire household during a power outage, you just need the necessities, like heat (or AC) and keeping your food cold, or perhaps some important medical equipment. For under a thousand dollars, you can get a portable home generator to accomplish these basic tasks.

If money is not an issue, you can purchase a more expensive and permanent home generator that will run your entire household. You can also go somewhere in between, something that runs more than the necessities, but not everything. Regardless of what you want, first you have to determine how much energy is needed to run the appliances you want to run, this will dictate the size of the home generator that you need. Next, you have to decide what type of fuel source you want to use. Possibilities include gas, diesel, propane, and natural gas. You will always want to keep some of this fuel on hand, and remember that the smaller the generator, the more often it will need to be refilled. If your home is already hooked up to natural gas or propane, your decision is made already made for you.

Generators Have a Range of Uses

It is possible to hook up large fuel supply tanks for extended use as needed. Generators are normally turned on by the standard pull cord method, or by a key and electronic ignition switch. Once on, the generator starts to do its job. They have regular electric receptacles for plugging in other devices: electronics, tools or small appliances.

Having a generator as a back-up power solution during times when the power goes out is a real convenience. It can even be an essential for some users who need certain medical devices to be powered without interruption. The high-end commercial type generators can be connected to a house for automatic backup. These units are the cream of the crop. They can be hard-wired right into your house. Not cheap, but certainly something to consider if you like the idea of never being without power and the conveniences that it provides.

Generators even come in portable configurations allowing power on the go. Think big RV. If you’ve ever been a lowly tent camper next to someone with a generator running you can understand what it is like to not only have to listen to a generator running, but also know what it is like to be a little jealous of the RVer enjoying the benefits that generators give. If you are like me, you may enjoy camping only if you are deprived of all sorts of creature comforts. You may even sort of disparage those who are able to enjoy all the comforts of home while they are out "roughing it." You know what I mean. Air conditioning, microwaves, heaters, a tv, the cd player, hair dryers and electric shavers. I mean the list goes on and on.

Generators Can Really Save You in a Pinch!

Generators come in all shapes and sizes and serve many different functions. Making electricity from a variety of energy sources with a generator is a wonderful thing. The power goes out, no problem, just fire up the generator and power is at the ready. Generators can produce electricity by converting mechanical energy from power sources like steam, water, wind, diesel, or gas. When the energy from these sources undergoes electromagnetic induction they turn into electrical energy using a motor.

The motor is what transforms the mechanical energy from those varying sources, all resulting in electricity. Basically, a conductor passes across a magnetic field producing voltage, that can then be used for powering your normal electric goodies.

There are many types of generators, but a typical type of generator is one that uses common gasoline. This type of generator uses a combustion engine, like those found in other small engine devices like lawn mowers.

How to Get Electricity During a Power Outage

During a power outage, with a standby generator you DO NOT have to go outside and set the unit up. Standby generators are permanently installed. You DO NOT have to manually start a standby generator; the unit has sensors designed to detect power outages and then an automatic transfer switch switches on your standby generator. The operation is so seamless; you’ll hardly notice it. If you use propane as your fuel source, you could literally give your standby generator five to eleven days or more of backup power.

Just think about the advantages of a standby generator. In the event of a power outage, you don’t have to go outside to set the unit up or start it. If your unit is fueled by propane or natural gas, you’ll never be caught off guard due to a lack of gasoline or diesel fuel. In outages caused by inclement weather such as the ice storm, it seems as though one of the first things to go is gasoline stations. The problem is, people who have gasoline and diesel fueled generators are now forced to drive around town desperately trying to find fuel. They essentially have to leave their homes after they run out of fuel. This is what makes the standby generator such an awesome invention.

Standby Generators Keep You Going During a Power Outage

As you’re going to learn, in the event of a power outage, a standby generator is your best choice. When a person first hears about backup generators, emergency generators and dealing with power outages, invariably they usually only hear about portable generators. To be fair, portable generators are a lifesaver. If they were the only choice, there would be no reason whatsoever for me to address this issue, but there is another choice. Before generators became popular, I was using portable generators as backup power and to provide power at the numerous sporting events, camping excursions, family outings and outdoor events. Needless to say, they make life easier.

However, the difference between a portable generator and a standby generator is a major one. If you have a portable generator and the power goes out, there is a sequence of steps that you must take before your portable generator can provide you with power. Step one; you have to retrieve the generator from storage. Step two, you have to connect extension cords to the generator and then to the appliances you want to power. Step three; you have to insure that you have enough fuel and oil. Step four; you have to start the generator. Unless your unit has a special automatic start feature, you will have pull start it just like you start a pull start lawnmower. Imagine having to do all that in the middle of an ice storm?

Permanent VS Portable Generators

There are a couple of disadvantages to using a portable generator. One is that you have to manually start it. The other disadvantage is that you have to be sure to have the fuel on-hand for immediate use of the generator, if the power goes out. Once the main power has returned, you must also manually turn off the portable generator.

Portable generators can range from delivering less than 1 kW to delivering 15 kW. Of course, larger generators are available that can be towed to wherever you need the generator that produce 200kW or more. There are some portable generators that will produce up to 6,000kW!

Permanent generators can power your entire house or business in case of a power outage. This type of generator is direct-wired to the building's electrical system, and it is fueled by the city (or other entity) using gas or propane lines.

The advantage of having a permanent generator is that you don't have to manually start it, and it can produce up to 20,000 kW of electricity. It automatically comes on when the power goes out and goes off when the power is restored. The disadvantage is that you cannot remove the generator, once it's installed without a large sum of money, time, and manpower.

Regardless of which type of generator you use, be sure to install it with a transfer switch. This will turn off the home or office's electrical current connection from the utility company before the generator starts running. By doing so, the generator's electrical current does not back feed into the utility lines, thereby creating a safer environment for the utility workers.

The Right Type of Generator for Your Home!

Nowadays, can anyone live without electricity? Me neither. If the power goes out for even a short time, it's pandemonium around our house. No television, no microwave, no dishwasher, no dryer, no stove, no hot water. How will we survive? How will you? If you have a generator, you may never have to find out.

Portable and permanent are the two basic types of generators. The names say it all. Portable generators can be carried with you, and permanent generators are just that - permanent.

Since portable generators can only generate a small amount of electricity, they will only allow certain small appliances to run. Obviously, you will not be able to use a portable generator to apply power to your entire house in the case of a power outage.

Portable generators usually operate on gas or propane. Fuel tanks are built into the generator. Some portable generators can be plugged into an outlet. These are great for activities that require electricity without having to run three or four extension cords.

Is Free Energy Possible?

Free energy generators are machines that create energy and power using something natural and renewable resources like solar, wind, geothermal and even magnets. While solar energy might bag the price in a popularity contest being its logic well explained and understood, the question is "is it better for you?" This article will show you why magnetic free energy is the right free energy home generator for you. Magnetic motors are devices that take advantage of the natural polarity of magnets to create an indefinite source or magnetic energy.

It is already a common knowledge that magnets are polarized, which results in a natural attraction for magnets with opposite poles and repulsion for those with same poles. It is with the natural repulsion that magnetic motors harness magnetic force to induce perpetual motion and create a permanent restorative loop. Simply put- magnetic energy generators use the magnetic energy to generate electricity, which then powers and further enhances the magnetic charge of the generator. This simply means that the generator can run indefinitely by itself for free with just on its initial charging process.
