An FAQ on Generators

You are probably in the market for a Natural Gas Generator in Edgewater, but still have some questions about them in general. After you have read this FAQ about generators, you will have a much better understanding of them as a whole, and that the natural gas power ones are probably the better choice.

What is an electrical generator?

Basically a generator is a motor that runs on fuel, that creates electricity for you. Usually as a backup, and in case of emergencies. They are most commonly used in power outages caused by weather, or when the power in your area is unreliable for some other reasons.

What types of fuel are there?

There are mainly 4 types of fuel that you can run generators on:

- Gasoline: These are usually pretty small, and can only be used for limited electrical use, for a very limited time. Usually good for a freezer, and fridge, and maybe a single light, but beyond that it is not much use.

- Diesel: Is quite similar to the gasoline powered generators, except they do last a bit longer, usually about twice as long, up to a day usually, before needing refueling. They are also the loudest generators on the market.

- Propane: Usually pretty efficient with the fuel, however the fuel tanks are usually pretty huge, these make them pretty uncommon for home use. The fuel tanks for some of these monsters are the same ones you see at refueling stations.

- Natural Gas: These happen to be the most efficient generators around. They hook up to your already running natural gas supply, make very little noise compared to the other types, and usually come with rather large outputs for running electricity for your entire house sometimes.
